Ontario Travel Information, Ontario Visitor Info

As of OCTOBER 1st 2022, you no longer need to be vaccinated (or do ArriveCAN) to cross into Canada.

Everyone should be concerned with the Corona Virus and be attentive about following Health Safety Practices more now then ever.
We ourselves are continually practicing safety health standards as advised by Canada & USA Health agencies & government.

Recommendations:
Remember to Encourage Hygiene and Preventative Measures
✓ Wash hands regularly with soap and water for a minimum of 20 seconds. If not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.
✓ Avoiding touching eyes, nose, or mouth.
✓ Always clean your hands after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing, and after using the restroom.
✓ Cough and sneeze into a tissue or the sleeve in your elbow crease.
✓ Avoid touching other people, including handshakes and hugs.
✓ Stay home if you are sick or showing flu like symptoms.

Hand Sanitizer (we have in Lodge, not in Cabins)

CROSSING THE BORDER

***You cannot bring Raw Eggs, Raw Chicken or Raw Turkey into Canada (temporary).

Cannabis Dec 2018 - Despite the fact that cannabis (marijuana) is legal and regulated in Canada, it remains illegal to take cannabis across Canada's national borders, whether you are entering or leaving Canada

USA Residents entering Canada: A Passport expedites your entry, however is not legislated at this time.  2 pieces of Photo ID like a Driver's License is acceptable.  USA legislation: A passport is required to expedite entry or re-entry to the USA.

Citizens of other countries must have a valid passport and rmay require a visitor visa.

All children must have a birth certificate with them or passports.  If traveling alone with children: You must also have a letter from the "other parent" or "both other parents"  that indicates they are aware of the trip & allows the minor dependent child/children to travel with you.

If you have a felony or misdemeanor conviction (e.g. DUI or DWI), you must contact one of the numbers well in advance to your arrival.  Contact: Citizenship and Immigration, within Canada 1-888-242-2100 or Internationally 416-973-4444 or visit www.cic.gc.ca. NOTE: If you have had (one) felony or misdemeanor conviction (like a DUI or DWI) after DEC 2018, you cannot cross the Border for 10 years; if previous to DEC 2018 - you will probably be allowed to cross into Canada after 5 year time frame.  Do not come to the Border expecting to be able to cross - phone ahead and give them specifics. You may also contact your lawyer in USA to have your charges removed.

There is a fee for crossing into Canada from the USA at the Fort Frances Border Crossing. Rainy River Border Crossing does not have a charge and generally has no long line-ups.
